pxart dup

Copy a frame under a new id, placed after its animation's last frame, to edit the copy; or a whole group under a new name, with its timing, pivots and @anim line (dup hero.px:walk/right walk/left).

dup FILE:ID NEWID [--after ID | --replace] [-o OUT] dup FILE:GROUP NEWGROUP [--after ID] [--replace] [-o OUT]
usage: pxart dup [-h] [-o O] [--after AFTER] [--replace] [--dry-run] src new

  dup FILE:ID NEWID [--after ID | --replace] [-o OUT]
  dup FILE:GROUP NEWGROUP [--after ID] [--replace] [-o OUT]
      Copy a frame under a new id, placed after its animation's last frame, to edit the copy; or a
      whole group under a new name, with its timing, pivots and @anim line
      (dup hero.px:walk/right walk/left).

positional arguments:
  src
  new

options:
  -h, --help show this help message and exit
  -o O
  --after AFTER
  --replace NEWID (or NEWGROUP's frames) exists: the copy replaces it
  --dry-run print what the edit says and a diff of the file it would change; write nothing

      Copy a frame under a new id, placed after the last frame of NEWID's animation, or
      when that animation is new, after the source's whole animation (or after --after).
      A new animation inherits the source's @anim timing.
      A GROUP copies its frames (walk/0 -> run/0), @anim and @still lines too.

See also, in pxart help all: FORMAT: frames and animation (@frame ids, groups, @anim);
  EDITING (-o OUT gets the whole file, only changed lines are rewritten, 'no change');
  FORMAT: selecting frames (FILE:SEL, an unnamed grid's name, zsh's "${F}:sel").

pxart help all has the whole reference, pxart help TOPIC one part of it.

This is the output of pxart help dup. The other editing commands and their shared notes are in pxart help EDITING.
