  render FILE... [-o preview.png] [--scale 8] [--no-grid] [--variant V] [--png [DIR]] [--plain]
         [--slots N|K=I] [--dry-run]
Render frames to a preview PNG with a pixel grid and x/y rulers, to look at while you edit.

positional arguments:
  files

options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
  -o O
--png [DIR] also write each single-frame .px as a 1x PNG: FILE.png beside FILE, or DIR/FILE.png
--plain -o is the one frame alone: its exact size at --scale (default 1), no grid, rulers or labels
--scale SCALE default 8 (--plain: 1)
--bg BG a flat color (default: a grey checkerboard behind each frame; --plain: none, transparent stays transparent)
  --no-grid
--variant V draw every frame in V; each label says so (idle/0%night)
--slots N|K=I draw the frames in N combinations of their slots' colors (the base, then others, the same every run), or with K=I,... those slots' colors by index, 0 the base: 'N,f=2' mixes both (help slots)
--dry-run print the readout and each output's size and layout, write nothing ('(dry run; nothing written)'); -o may be left off

Preview sheet with a pixel grid and x/y rulers every 4px (default --scale 8; sheet,
anim and onion too). --png also writes each single-frame .px at 1x, FILE.png beside it
or in DIR, and says so. --plain writes -o as the one frame alone, its exact size
(--scale 1 by default), no grid, rulers, labels or --bg: for diff (--no-grid still
      pads and labels).

(frames of different sizes, --bg, --dry-run).

pxart help all has the whole reference, pxart help TOPIC one part of it.
